The applicant should apply to register as a plantation tea grower to the Factory Manager of the tea factory to which he delivers green leaf, by supplying such particulars as the Board may, in regulations, prescribe.
The application should be made in Form A1.
If the applicant fulfills all the requirements set, the factory registers him or her on behalf of the Board and is considered as a registered plantation tea grower (Factory Company) with that factory.
As provided by the Tea Regulations,2008, an applicant for registration as a tea grower approaches the tea factory where he/she wants to be registered and fills Form A Application for registration as a Tea Grower and the requirements contained therein (National ID; Address and land particulars). Should a grower want to move from one factory to another, the grower is required to give a notice as specified in the Green Leaf Supply Agreement and clear any obligations with the factory before release. A plantation tea grower should apply to be registered with the tea factory to which they deliver green leaf in accordance with section 14 (1) b of the Crops Act in Form A1.

Need for the Document
A Tea Plantation Grower is a person or company who is cultivating tea in a large area of land or who intends to plant and cultivate tea in a large area of land.
A tea plantation is a large area of land on which tea is cultivated.
Information which might help
A plantation grower may register with the Authority, by supplying such particulars as the Authority may be prescribe.
Any grower, who carries on business as such without being registered in accordance with the regulations or knowingly or recklessly supplies false particulars, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be subject to the penalties prescribed under Section 19 (1) of the Crops Act.

To register Tea Plantation Grower (Factory Company)
The manager of a tea factory issues a certificate of registration to a plantation tea grower in Form B set out in the regulations.
The Tea Board of Kenya is mandated to license tea manufacturing factories; carry out research on tea through its technical arm, the Tea Research Foundation of Kenya; to register growers, buyers, brokers, packers, management agents and any other person dealing in tea; and promote Kenya tea in both the local and the international markets. The Board also disseminates information relating to tea and advises the Government on all policy matters regarding the tea industry.
