Procedure
The completed application form together with the relevant documents indicated in the checklist should be submitted in person to the Registrar, Pharmacy & Poisons Board offices.
Upon submission of the application documents, the applicant shall pay a non- refundable application fees as stipulated in the guidelines for issuance of Wholesale Dealers License or as may be prescribed by the Board.

Upon receipt of the duly filled application forms and documents, the same will be evaluated and the applicant advised in writing on whether the application was successful or not within 1 Month.

A copy of previous annual practice license for the pharmacist plus clearance from PSK.

Eligibility
A person intending to carry out the business as a wholesale dealer in pharmaceuticals is required to have a valid Wholesale Dealers License.

Instructions
Application for renewal of licences will be made to the Board in writing by filling the renewal form.

The requisite forms for renewal are to be filled and application fees paid beginning October and not later than 31st December every year in order to facilitate timely processing of the licenses.

The application for renewal is evaluated every time and the Board shall not be obliged to renew the licenses except for applications which as per the prevailing conditions at the time of application still meet the requirements.

Need for the Document
Pharmaceutical wholesale dealers license is issued by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and expires on the 31st day of December of the year it is issued and should be renewable annually.



Information which might help
Any application for renewal of licenses that is lodged later than 31st December will attract a penalty for late application and this will be in the form of a percentage of the standard application fees as may be prescribed by the Board. Currently the penalty is 10% and is levied on a monthly incremental basis from January onwards.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board is the Drug Regulatory Authority established under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Chapter 244 of the Laws of Kenya.

The Board regulates the Practice of Pharmacy and the Manufacture and Trade in drugs and poisons.

The Board aims to implement the appropriate regulatory measures to achieve the highest standards of safety, efficacy and quality for all drugs, chemical substances and medical devices, locally manufactured, imported, exported, distributed, sold, or used, to ensure the protection of the consumer as envisaged by the laws regulating drugs in force in Kenya.
