With iOS 13, iPadOS, and macOS Catalina you can use the Find My app to locate your friends and family, share your location, or find a missing device. Here's how to get started.



The Find My app combines Find My iPhone and Find My Friends into a single app included in iOS 13, iPadOS, and macOS Catalina. If you need help finding it, use Search on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or use Spotlight on your Mac. You can also share locations or find missing devices on iCloud.com.



If you don't have iOS 13, iPadOS, macOS Catalina, or watchOS 6, set up and use Find My iPhone and Find My Friends instead of Find My, or use iCloud.com to find your device.

Get started with Find My on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Easily locate friends and family members. Share your location with others, let them share back, and find missing devices. All with the Find My app.

Turn on location services
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and select Privacy.
Choose Location Services.
Turn on Location Services.
Turn on Share My Location
If you want friends and family to know where you are, turn on Share My location on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If they share their location back, you can see where they are too.

Open the Settings app and select [your name].
Choose Find My.
Turn on Share My Location.
If you set up Family Sharing, you'll be able to see the members of your Family Sharing group that you're sharing your location with.

After you turn on Share My Location, learn how to set up and use Find My to share your location.

For family members on devices with iOS 12 or earlier, macOS Mojave or earlier, or watchOS 3 through 5, they need to set up and use Find My Friends to share their location with friends and family.

Turn on Find My [device]
Open the Settings app and select [your name].
Choose Find My, then select Find My [device] and turn on Find My [device].
To see your device even when it's offline, turn on Enable Offline Finding.
To have the location of your device sent to us when the battery is low, turn on Send Last Location.
If your Apple Watch and your AirPods are paired with your device, they're automatically set up when you turn on Find My [device].
Pick your Map settings
Choose your favorite map view in the Find My app. You can even view distance on the map as miles or kilometers.

Choose a Map view
Open the Find My app.
Select the information icon .
Under Map View, choose the view that you want to see. You can choose Map, Hybrid, or Satellite view.

Choose a Map distance setting
Open the Find My app.
Select the information icon .
Under Distance, you can choose Miles or Kilometers.

Get started with Find My on your Mac
Easily locate friends and family members. Share your location with others, let them share back, and find missing devices. All with the Find My app.

Turn on location services
Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences.
Click Security & Privacy, then click the Privacy tab.
If the padlock in the lower left is locked , click it, then enter the name and password of the administrator.
Select Location Services.
Select the "Enable Location Services" checkbox.
Select the box next to "Find My" in the list of apps under Location Services.
Turn on Find My Mac
Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences.
Click Apple ID, then click iCloud.
Select the box to turn on Find My Mac.
