Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mutahi Kagwe on Thursday, April 2, announced that 29 new people had tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 110.

Speaking outside Afya House during the daily updates presser, CS Kagwe also revealed that 2 patients had succumbed to Coronavirus.

"I am saddened to announce that we have lost 2 patients who had tested positive for the Coronavirus," he stated

The Health CS went on to announce that they had hit a new record of 662 tests in the past 24 hours, resulting in the latest confirmed cases.

"The situation in Kenya is not getting any better. It is not a joke, you don't have to wait to hear of the death of someone you know to believe the virus is real. This is a very serious threat to our lives & to our nation, the numbers will rise,

This number is going to rise and rise exponentially," he warned.
