Kenya's Covid-19 Cases Rise to 126 by Kenyans247(1): Sun 05, April, 2020 08:59am
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Saturday, April 4, announced that the total number of patients affected by the Covid-19 disease in the country had risen to 126.

During the usual briefings from Afya house, the CS stated that in the last 24 hours, four people had tested positive for the disease.

"In the last 24 hours, we have tested over 300 people for coronavirus, out of the 372 samples that we have taken, four have tested for the disease," he stated.
Of the four patients, Mutahi stated that three are Kenyans while one is a Pakistan national. He added that two of them had travelled to Malawi and Pakistani respectively, while two contracted the disease locally.

Further, the Health CS stated that three of the affected patients were male while one was female with their ages ranging from 34 to 44 years.

The CS further stated that out of the 2,050 individuals who had been put on mandatory quarantine, 1,866 had so far been tested.

"Contact tracing remains the largest activity that we have right now. About 1781 have been monitored, we have managed to discharge about 1,100 people from our follow up program on the expiry of 14 days," he stated.

At the same time, Mutahi stressed that the youth needed to unleash their energies in fighting the deadly coronavirus disease.

"I wish to appeal to Kenyan youth to become part of the solution by taking certain measures. For instance, do not travel upcountry.

"The youth, if you travel upcountry without knowing your Covid-19 status, there is the possibility that you are going to kill your mother or grandmother," Mutahi stated.

"My sons and daughters, this is your fight, it is you who will face us your parents as you watch us get sick," he added.
