Govt Issues Fresh Directive for Foreigners in Kenya by Kenyans247(1): Thu 09, April, 2020 01:46pm
The national government through the ministry of foreign affairs has allowed for the extension of visas by foreign nationals in the country.

In a statement released on Wednesday, April 8, the government stated that the services which had been suspended for 30 days on March 16, 2020, will be available effective April 13.

The ministry further directed that in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19, the applications be done online through the Foreign National Services Portal. One is required to log into the portal, select extension of visitors pass service, fill in the application form, and upload the relevant pages of passport, return/onward ticket and any other document required.

The process also requires that one download and print the application form and once approved, a notification will be issued in your account. One is also required to download and print the notification which will bear the duration of the extension.

"You will need to provide this notification when exiting the country," the statement reads in part.

The ministry also stated that application forms for a permit, passes, citizenship and multiple journey visa applied for online may be placed at the drop box located at Nyayo House ground floor, foreign National Management section.

For approved cases, the ministry advised that payment receipts, invoices, security bond and approval acknowledgements be placed at the drop box located at the entrance of the fifth floor.
