Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Mercy Mwangangi on Saturday, April 11 addressed the daily press briefing on Covid-19, announcing that cases of the virus in Kenya had risen to 191.
This is after two more cases were confirmed to have contracted the disease in the last 24 hours.
"491 samples have been tested out of which two have tested positive. One in Mombasa and the other one in Nairobi," the CAS stated.

109 of the patients are male while 82 are female.
Of the two, she stated that one was Kenyan and the other a foreign national while non of them has a history of travel.
In terms of age, one of the two cases is two years old while the other is a thirty-two-year-old.

Dr Mwangangi mentioned that a total of 2054 contacts had been monitored out of which 1,546 had been discharged, adding that a total of 508 contacts were being followed up on.
At the same time, the CAS added that two more people had been discharged from the hospital bringing the number of recoveries to 24.
She urged Kenyans to follow the guidelines given by the government during the Easter holiday to avoid the spread of the deadly virus.
"We must remember to wash our hands, continue to wear face masks, observe social distancing and we must continue to stay at home," she concluded.
