Details of Jeff Koinange's New Show [VIDEO] by Kenyans247(1): Mon 18, May, 2020 10:57pm
Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange on Sunday, May 17, revealed details of a new show set to air thrice a week on his online platforms.

Unlike his famous talk-show Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) which often features high-profile guests, the new show will see Jeff on his own as he reveals how he became one of the biggest names in media.

The show dubbed 'A Chapter a Day' will be broadcast on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 p.m and is based on the presenter's book, Through My African Eyes.

Describing it as his journey of discovery, Koinange explained that the show would be streamed live on his Facebook and Instagram pages before later being shared on Youtube.
Ardent fans of the presenter expressed their excitement over the new production, promising to tune in to get to know more about the celebrated journalist.

In his book, Jeff tells the story of how he found himself in the field of journalism almost by chance, having started out as a flight attendant.

"A lot of you ask how I began in this business. Did I train to be a journalist? Did I always know I was going to be a journalist? The simple answer is no, I didn't.

"In fact, I started off as a flight attendant on an aircraft very similar to this. This is a Boeing 787, we started on one called the Boeing 747 which carries more than 400 passengers.

"I was a flight attendant right inside that when I discovered my talent," he revealed in a short promotional trailer for the show.

He disclosed that the show would involve him reading parts of the book and breaking them down, with the book based on his life story.

Jeff was part of a group of Kenyans trained to work as flight attendants for PanAm Airlines in 1984, a move that would eventually see him transition to journalism.

He revealed in a past interview that he was encouraged to become a journalist by a media professional who had boarded one of the flights and observed that Jeff's voice had a unique flair to it.

He went on to secure a scholarship at New York University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism.

His storied career saw him work on multiple continents for media giants including NBC, ABC, Reuters and CNN before returning to Kenya.

His voice, accompanied by his catch-phrases such as 'Oh my!', has since made him one of the most recognisable faces in the country.
