Mr Mohammed Khamis died Coast General Hospital where he had been admitted for the last two weeks when he tested positive for the virus. Mr Khamis was reported to have been confirmed positive in the first week when schools were re-opened. Tononoka Secondary School principal has succumbed to Covid-19 at the Coast General Hospital in Mombasa. ![]() Mr Mohammed Khamis died at the hospital where he had been admitted for the last two weeks when he tested positive for the virus. The school deputy principal Benjamin Nzaro confirmed Mr Khamis’s death on Monday. Mr Khamis was reported to have been confirmed positive in the first week when schools were re-opened. The school was closed after other staff members also tested positive for Covid-19. Teachers and students were reported to have contracted the deadly virus forcing learning to be suspended at the institution. Learning suspended Star of the Sea High School was similarly closed following reports of positive tests. Reliable sources told the Nation that at least eight people were reported to have returned positive results at Tononoka Secondary School while four cases were reported at Star of the Sea High School. In a letter, Star of the Sea High School said learning at the school had been temporarily suspended for fumigation. “This is to inform you that all school operations have been temporarily suspended with effect from today, Monday 19th October, to allow fumigation. The school's normal operations will resume on Monday, November 2, 2020,” the letter seen by Nation reads in part.
