Nigerian Youth Congress condemns attack and looting of P-YES Equipment by Daudupress(1): Thu 29, October, 2020 |
By Emmanuel Daudu/Abuja-Nigeria
The President of Nigerian Youth Congress, Blessing Akinlosotu has condemned In its strongest term the attack and looting of the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme Programme Equipment at Trade Moore Estate Area, Lugbe-Airport road, FCT in Abuja. This was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja yesterday 28th October 2020. The statement revealed that the looters and hoodlums who ransacked and made away with all the equipment meant for youth empowerment across the thirty-six (36) states in the country kick-started at noon on the 27th October 2020 and before evening everything was carted away from the warehouse after which the place was set ablaze. Akinlosotu expressed disappointment on the looters for perpetrating such a wicked and disgraceful act which is capable of demoralizing the trust of Nigerian leaders on the good Nigerian youths amongst the few bad ones. Reacting further on the incident, Akinlosotu urged all Nigerians to stand against this act and fight the hoodlums and looters when seen around in a bid to execute illegal acts that might be disastrous to the well-being of the nation and the citizens. Educating the youths, he said, "it is worthy to note that #EndSARS protest has come and gone. A protest is a peaceful demonstration within the circumference of the streets with placards and sundry inscriptions on them, outside this, any other thing or act is illegal and when caught, you have to face the law squarely", stressing that the act need to be aggressively put to a standstill. Earlier this week, the activities of the looters and hoodlums have overwhelmed the villages all around the FCT metropolis and Nasarawa state. It was also reported that people residing in Gosa-toge, within the same axis have not slept for two days going by the serial robbing experienced which is perpetrated by the same group of individuals. 0 Shares 0 Like •
