UNITED V ARSENAL: WHAT'S THE TEAM NEWS? by Kenyans247(1): Sun 01, November, 2020 08:14am
Manchester United have no new injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s Premier League home game against Arsenal.

The Reds saw off RB Leipzig 5-0 in the Champions League in midweek in what was our most convincing performance of the campaign so far.

According to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the majority of the squad has come through that test and should be fine to take on Mikel Arteta’s side, who are seeking their first league win at Old Trafford since September 2006.Brazilian full-back Alex Telles, signed from FC Porto at the start of the month, will, however, have to wait to add to his single United appearance so far.

On Wednesday, Ole revealed that our new no.27 had tested positive for COVID-19, but fortunately he is not showing any symptoms.

“Alex won’t be ready, no,” Ole told reporters. “Apart from that I would think everyone else, at the moment, looks like they could be involved.

“[The squad looks] good,” the Norwegian added in a separate interview with MUTV.

“There was no injuries [from Wednesday] which of course is a big plus when you think of every game we play and the intensity. We’re getting better and better, I think everyone is seeing now that our fitness and sharpness is more up to speed and we should be ready for that game [on Sunday].”

Telles joins Eric Bailly and Jesse Lingard on the sidelines, with those two set to be missing until after the November international break.

Anthony Martial netted his first goal of 2020/21 against RB Leipzig, but he won’t be available on Sunday – the Frenchman is seeing out the final game of a three-match domestic suspension, served after he was sent off against Tottenham.

Ole also provided an update on two United players who are yet to feature at all in the current campaign. The boss said that Sergio Romero has returned to the Aon Training Complex to train with the other goalkeepers this week, while Phil Jones is continuing his recovery from an operation which is expected to keep him out of action for another month or so.
“Sergio has just come back into training this week. He’s started his pre-season work and he’s working to get to his peak fitness with the goalkeepers.

”Phil has been injured and he had an operation and he’s been working really hard to get back. He’ll hopefully get fit during December. That was a natural thing when you’re injured, you can’t really be in the squad can you? He’s working really diligently and he’ll be coming back soon.“

ARSENAL TEAM NEWS

David Luiz is the Gunners’ main injury concern leading up to the weekend, with the Brazilian centre-back struggling to recover in time from the muscular issue he picked up during Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat to Leicester City.
Fellow defenders Calum Chambers (knee), Rob Holding (thigh) and Pablo Mari (ankle) are long-term absentees, as is young striker Gabriel Martinelli, who has returned to training but is lacking match fitness having not featured since March.

Young centre-back William Saliba is getting closer to making his Arsenal debut, however, after a few games acclimatising with the Under-23s. Arteta rotated his side for Thursday’s 3-0 win over Dundalk, with Thomas Partey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette all sitting out.
