Usually, no symptoms of filariasis are clearly visible, but fever, body itching, and problems of genitalia, and pain in and around men. Apart from this, swelling of feet and hands, elephant feet, and hydrosol (inflammation of the testicles) are also symptoms of filariasis.

Since hands and feet are swollen like elephant's feet in this disease, this disease is called Hathipaon. Although filariasis infection occurs in childhood, for many years its symptoms are not seen. Filaria not only makes the person disabled, but it also affects the mental state of the patient.
