Nigeria News:GOV. ORTOM PLEDGES SUSTAINED YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES by Daudupress(1): Sat 19, December, 2020

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has reaffirmed the resolve of his administration to evolve more programmes aimed at youth development in the State.

He spoke today at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi when the leadership of Nigerian Youth Congress, NYC visited him as part of activities for the inauguration of the state chapter of the organisation.

Governor Ortom stated that the recently held Benue Youth Summit produced commendable resolutions that would help in planning to create greater opportunities for young people in the state.

According to him, the inauguration of the Benue State chapter of the NYC would add value to what his administration is doing concerning youth development, and commended Comrade Isaac Mtom who is to be inaugurated as Benue State Chairman of NYC.

National President of NYC, Comrade Blessing Akinlosotu said the organisation's mandate is to coordinate the youths to harness talents for the benefit of all.

He commended Governor Ortom for his commitment to youth development, saying the proactive manner the Governor handled the EndSARS protests in the state proved that he is a dependable leader.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Students Affairs, Hon. Nasir Adhama, represented by Dr. Aminu Ishaku said the inauguration in Benue was a special one because of the involvement of the State First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom.

On his part, Chairman Governing Council of NYC, Dr. Yakubu Shendam who described Benue as his second home, pledged their support to the Governor at all times.
