Apple iBook G4/1.42 14-Inch (Mid-2005 - Op) SpecsKenyans247 / Science/Technology / Computers / Apple iBook G4/1.42 14-Inch (Mid-2005 - Op) Specs 10 people viewed |
Apple iBook G4/1.42 14-Inch (Mid-2005 - Op) Specs by Kenyans247(1): Sat 26, December, 2020 01:56pm |
The iBook G4/1.42 14-Inch (Mid-2005 - Opaque White), features a 1.42 GHz PowerPC 7447a (G4) processor with a 512k "on chip" level 2 cache, 512 MB of RAM (PC2700 DDR SDRAM), a 60 GB (4200 RPM) Ultra ATA/100 hard drive, a slot-loading DVDR/CD-RW "SuperDrive", 4X AGP ATI Mobility Radeon 9550 graphics with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM, and standard AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR packed into an opaque white case with a 14.1" TFT XGA active matrix display (1024x768 native resolution).
The "Mid-2005" iBook G4 models use the same external housings as the earlier iBook G4 models, but otherwise these systems are quite different. When compared to the G4/1.33 14-Inch (Late 2004) that it replaced, the iBook G4/1.42 14-Inch (Mid-2005) has a faster processor, faster system bus, twice the amount and faster RAM (512 MB compared to 256 MB of onboard memory), superior graphics, and built-in Bluetooth 2.0+EDR as well as AirPort Extreme (802.11g). The iBook G4 "Mid-2005" models additionally include the "Sudden Motion Sensor" technology that stops the hard drive heads from moving if the notebook is dropped, and the "scrolling Trackpad" that allows one to scroll or pan by touching the trackpad with two fingers instead of one -- both borrowed from the PowerBook G4 series. Also see: What are the differences between the "Mid-2005" iBook (1.33/1.42) models? To purchase or upgrade a PowerPC Mac -- as well as newer Macs -- see site sponsor Operator Headgap Systems. OHS has low prices, a warranty, and personal support. Despite the age of this system, site sponsor Other World Computing has RAM, hard drives, SSDs, and other upgrades available for this specific Mac while supplies last. 0 Shares 0 Like • |
