Apple iPhone 8 (AT&T/T-Mobile/Global/A1905) 64, 128, 256 GB Specs by Kenyans247(1): Wed 17, February, 2021 10:49am
Please note that this A1905 iPhone 8 model is compatible with FDD-LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, and 66 as well as TD-LTE bands 34, 38, 39, 40, and 41. It is intended for use with AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States (it does not support CDMA networks such as those used by Verizon and Sprint), but it does formally support carriers in Canada, the UK, the EU, and just about all other countries in the world with the exception of Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and India.

Regardless of carrier support, all iPhone 8 models have a 4.7" (diagonal) widescreen multitouch "True Tone" LED-backlit 1334x750 native resolution "Retina HD" display (326 ppi, 625 cd/m2) and a taptic-engine powered solid state "clickless" Home button.

It has dual cameras -- a rear 12-megapixel 4K camera with optical image stabilization, a f/1.8 aperture, a 6-element lens and wide color capture -- as well as a front 7-megapixel "FaceTime HD" camera with support for 1080p video. The cameras support motion tracking and offer augmented reality support, too.

The iPhone 8 uses an "aerospace-grade" aluminum alloy case reinforced by steel and has a glass front and back. It is splash, water, and dust-resistant (IP67), but not water-proof, and it has stereo speakers and a Lightning port. It originally was offered in three metallic color options -- gold, silver, or a dark "Space Gray", but from April 9, 2018 to September 12, 2018, Apple also sold a (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition model with a black front and a red back.

Internally, the iPhone 8 is powered by a 64-bit "Apple A11 Bionic" processor with six cores -- two performance cores and four high-efficiency cores -- and has 2 GB of RAM, as well as 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB of flash storage (128 GB option introduced and 256 GB discontinued on September 10, 2019). It also supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE (4G), and NFC for Apple Pay.

Apple estimates that the iPhone 8 provides "up to" 40 hours of audio playback, 14 hours of talk time, 12 hours of Internet use, and 13 hours of wireless video playback. Because of the device's glass back, the battery can be charged wirelessly using a charging mat that supports the Qi standard.

In the US, this iPhone 8 originally was available unlocked and contract-free for US$699 or US$849. It originally was available on AT&T or T-Mobile with the "Apple iPhone Upgrade Program" for US$34.50 or US$40.75 per month for 24 months, which includes an upgrade to a new iPhone every year and AppleCare+, but does not include the cost of mobile service. On AT&T, it also was available with an installment program for US$29.13 or US$35.38 per month for 24 months, which includes an upgrade to a new iPhone every "12 or 24 months," but not AppleCare+ or the cost of mobile service. Globally, it was available on a wide variety of carriers.

On September 12, 2018, Apple dropped the unlocked and contract-free price of thie iPhone 8 to US$599 and US$749 with 64 GB and 256 GB of storage, respectively. On AT&T, the installment program effectively held steady at US$24.96 or US$31.21 per month for 24 months, which includes an upgrade to a new iPhone every 12 or 24 months with eligible trade-in, but not AppleCare+ or the cost of mobile service.

Finally, on September 10, 2019, Apple discontinued the 256 GB option and introduced a new 128 GB one. With 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, the iPhone 8 now is offered for US$449 or US$499, respectively, unlocked and contract-free, or for as little as US$18.70 per month or US$20.79 per month on AT&T or T-Mobile. A variety of other plans were available, too. On April 15, 2020, the iPhone 8 was discontinued altogether.
