The Director Projects, International Human Rights Commission Situation Room, Mr. Fred Eze Chidozie in a letter he signed, dated 29th March 2021 to His Excellency Professor (Sir) Bashiru Aremu, the Vice-Chancellor, Crown University, International, USA, disclosed that the influential event is instituted to honour the former First Lady of Nigeria, Late Chief Mrs. Stella Obasanjo and her ‘Child Care’ pet project, stating that the event’s segments include technical sessions, endowment fund launch, lectures and showcasing scientific innovations, convocation ceremony and unique networking opportunities.

“We have considered writing you this letter and formally inviting you to give a lecture at the event, as one of the lecturers at the occasion”, he said.



However, it is worth acknowledging that the memorial lecture on ‘Child Care’ is aimed at emphasizing interventions during preconceptions and pregnancy requiring more education and preparations. Reproductive anatomy and physiology, nutritional evaluation, and environmental/ network hazards which today determine the smart-borns as a result of wise pregnancy planning and preconception.

Mr. Fred Eze Chidozie also in his letter noted that the Human Rights education federation of the IHRC fully recognises the importance of child development science and links it to the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals early child development goals. “This is specially, the basis for sustainable development Goals 4 which gives credence to holding this IHRC’s Stella Obasanjo memorial lecture”.



The letter of invitation also disclosed that His Excellency Professor (Sir) Bashiru Aremu, the Vice-Chancellor, Crown University, International, USA, would be bagging an award of Doctor of Science D.Sc (Honoris Causa) in Child Developmental Science.

However, other speakers at the event include Dr. Paul Udoka Oddnigbo, Co-founder: Diligent Care for Creative intelligence at United Nations ECOSCOC. An Honouree of the United States Congress and President of Borough, New York, USA, and Dr. Zainab Sulieman, Medical Practitioner with Phemzy Hospital and Maternity Limited, Abuja, all, under the Chairmanship of His Excellency Sen. Ike Ekweremadu.




The Human Rights Education Federation of the IHRC however assured participants at the International Stella Obasanjo Memorial Lecture on Child Care scheduled from July 21st – 22nd, 2021 at the Abuja Sheraton hotel, Nigeria. It is hoped that the Lecture will make a profound impact on the health and well-being of Children and also be a significant contribution to the advancement of Child Development Science and Medical practice in this area. The organizers therefore aim to educate the attendees with the current challenges in healthcare, provide an insight on latest trends and to explore the future of promoting smart healthy potentials in the unborn child.

Consultations between the organizers and the selected speakers for the lecture is being done to ensure the lecture topics and discussion are delivered on the importance of fighting for healthier environment and healthier newborns.



One of the Speakers for this lecture is the UNESCO Laureate, Prof. (Sir) Bashiru Aremu has been held a meeting with the authorities of the IHRC Africa Region HQ. He was informed that as from 2021, the Memorial Lecture will be an annual scientific meeting that will be geared towards the attaining of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) with evidence-based practice, professional development and research on maternal skills for women to plan pregnancies for impact preconceptions outcomes through adopting best practices and innovation.

H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, Director/Ambassador of the IHRC Africa Region HQ who played host to Prof. (Sir) Bashiru Aremu stressed the details of the lecture and said it is going to be a professional environment that encourages collegiality and networking among participants associated with advancement in health of the unborn child. Dr. Ahure listed Researchers, Scientists, Scholars, Academics, Public Health Nurses and Midwives, Women Rights Advocates, Health Care Lawmakers, Community leaders, Ministries, Departments & Agencies (MDA’s), Military and Paramilitary Bodies, Medical Professional Associations and a host of others as attendees for the Child Care Lecture.

While describing the lecture as a useful educational opportunity, H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure said he was satisfied with the organizing plan and enthused that the Lecture will hold on 21st – 22nd July, 2021 by God’s grace. UNESCO Laureate Prof. (Sir) Bashiru Aremu expressed readiness to have an engaging lecture session at the event. The Stella Obasanjo Memorial Lecture on Child Care will provide the chance to hear expert speakers, network with other health care professionals and learn new techniques, technology and tips in Child Development Science.

The Human Rights Education Federation of the IHRC will reward four outstanding First Ladies in Nigeria, a philanthropist and the Lecture Presenters with the D.Sc (honoris causa) in a Convocation ceremony at the end of the event. This segment of conferments of the Degrees will be conducted by the IHRC World Secretary’s delegation which will arrive the country for the Memorial Lecture.
