- The head of state told Nairobians the BBI team was meant to unite Kenyans
- The BBI team was meant to come up with recommendations on how to cure the ills bedeviling the country
- However, it became a political agenda with some leaders opposing it after it came up with proposals for Constitution amendments - DP William Ruto has vehemently opposed any such moves saying it won't go far President Uhuru Kenyatta has reiterated he is not interested in serving Kenyans after his exit from office in 2022 The head of state was responding to claims that the Building Bridges Initiative's (BBI) was meant to change the Constitution to expand the executive and accommodate him in government once his term ends.
