What are the biggest mistakes people make when visiting Kenya?
The biggest mistake? Arriving at Nairobi, getting off an incredibly long flight from a right-hand drive nation, late in the day, jumping into the driver’s seat of a unfamiliar vehicle, and expecting to drive through the night 300 miles to the Coast on the “wrong” side of the road on one of the most dangerous highways in the world. I’ve seen the remains of twisted metal when these vehicles meet head-on with careening trucks or buses. Biggest mistake? Last mistake.
