What is Nigeria still not getting right? by Kenyans247(1): Sun Jan 2020 12:32pm
Nigeria is still not getting this statement and orientation right, the phrase our unity as a nation is non-negotiable. This is a fraud. It is a fallacy that was propagated by some elites who feel that they can push such a narrative without being confronted.

The unity of every society or people is negotiable. It has to be reviewed and evolutionarily understood. A heterogeneous society like Nigeria needs some in-depth look and retrospectively aligned together. Good things come from the negotiating table and it gives room for an understanding of the diversity of the people.

We owe ourselves equal opportunities and total adherence to the dictates of the constitution of Nigeria. We became a country by the occupation and amalgamation of northern and southern protectorates by Lord Lugard in 1914. We have come a long way to make our existence as people productive and retain our national security and unity based on such agreement. We can come together as people through a referendum or confab to shape our destiny as possible. It is negotiable and it is by these we can make our diversity an immense blessing to us. We don't have to be one country by force, it will retrogress us.
