1.Go to the Road Transport offices in Times Tower, Nairobi, Customs House, Mombasa or the District Commissioners office and obtain a form C, or download and fill the form from http://www.kra.go.ke/roadtransport/pdf/TrafficActFormC.pdf
2.Fill in the forms and return them to the Road Transport offices in Times Tower, Nairobi, Customs House, Mombasa or the District Commissioners office, with all the required documents.
1.Copy of valid Insurance Cover.
2.Original Registration Book (log book)
3.A duly filled and signed transfer from "C".
4.Letters of Administration to be attached
5.Transfers: (a) For individuals.
copies of : National card (ID) For both buyer and seller
Pin certificate for both buyer and seller.(
copies of : Certificate of in corporation.
Pin certificate for both buyer and seller.
copies of :Certificate of Business Registration
6.Incase of parastatal, EX GKs and Local Authority, letter signed personally by respective permanent Secretaries.

One has to show proof that the owner gave consent of the transfer, through a will.
(i) Not Exceeding ........ 1000cc 1,660/=
1001 .................... 1200cc 1,890/=
1201 .................... 1500cc 2,065/=
1501 .................... 1700cc 2,410/=
1701 .................... 2000cc 2,695/=
2001 .................... 2500cc 3,845/=
2501 .................... 3000cc 5,055/=
3001 .................... and above 5,915/=
ii) A trailer less than four wheels 1,030/=
iii) A trailer with four wheels or more 1,890/=
v) Tractor 1,030/=
After the transfer, the new documents are valid until the new owner transfers ownership to another person, or disposes off the vehicle.
Within 3 business days
Can only be done if the owner of the vehicle is deceased.
3.Full names of both previous owner and new owner
Need for the Document
In case the owner of a vehicle dies, one (most often next of kin) can apply for transfer of ownership from the deceased to him/herself
